need info as to what can be done when a contractor uses funds advanced to him and does not pay subs. am being sued, lien on house and business.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying… But you should have ran a criminal background check on them before advancing them your savings. Perhaps you can get a lawyer that will work on consignment and only gets paid if you win the case.
