A National Criminal Background Check is not the same as a Federal Court Search

Today a national criminal background check includes felony and misdemeanor conviction records from county and state courts.  Currently there are 46 US States that are included in CriminalBackgroundRecords.com instant national background check.

The Federal search that is also offered by the site pulls criminal records from the Federal court system.  A Federal search involves some manual labor and therefore cannot be completed instantly as a national background check can.

A national background check is simply the combination of 46 separate statewide criminal background checks.  As such, the national background check can retrieve criminal records from a long time back, sometimes decades old if one of the states it includes in its search has criminal history records that are stored from that far back and are available for instant online gateway retrieval.

The Federal Search only goes back 7 years except for a few Federal Courts that don’t even go back that far, however there are well over 300 Federal Courts so only 1% of them do not allow CriminalBackgroundRecords.com  to go back 7+ years.  Even though the Federal search is not instant, most Federal search requests take less than 1 business day to complete.
